Scotland gets its first female First Minister: immediately institutes 50:50 cabinet

Scotland's new First Minister Nicola Sturgeon met with her new cabinet on Friday. Her cabinet has a 50:50 split of men and women for the first time in Scottish history, a move easily achieved by hiring 4 women and 5 men.

The UK Parliament's female MP numbers continue to hover at 20%, with similar numbers making up the cabinet.
